What every happened to team?

Tiki Barber basically called out his coaching staff after they got thumped by the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. He said that they were “outcoached”….ouch. Even if he felt that way, it should have stayed in the locker room. I know it hurts bad to loose a playoff game you fell you should have won, but you have to keep family busy in the house. He was out of line.

T-Mac on a stretcher

I have watched T-Mac for years. He is an awesome talent, but it seems for the last couple of years, every other time I catch him on SportCenter, he is on his back or holding his back. I am starting to wonder whether or not will he ever be on the level of Kobe or IA (a game changer night in and night out). If I was the President of Basketball Ops for the Houston Rockets, I don’t know if I could depend on his services. When he is in there, he is like few (on the offensive end. He can stand to get after it more on the defensive end). I am not saying that he is faking the back condition because I myself have a back condition (two herniated disk, L4 and L5). It can be debilitating at times. But what I am saying is that you can't put much stock in a guy as your “main guy” when he goes through conditions like McGrady's throughout the season?

Heisman: Do over!!!

If the Heisman voting was taken after the National Championship game, this year's trophy might be in Austin, Texas. I am fan of Reggie Bush and Vince Young, but the performance of Vince Young in the Rose Bowl was like no other I've ever witness in a college championship game. A lot of time big time players choke or play lukewarm in big games, but Young played like a champion. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to diminish Bush's accomplishments this year, but taking the Rose Bowl in account, distinguishing the best player in college football might be a little harder.

Kobe hitting 50 points last night

Kobe hit 50 against the Clippers last night. I am not a fan of Kobe, but his will to win is like few players I have every observed playing the game of basketball. You can call him a dirty player (remember the shot to the chops on Mike Miller) or even a rapist, but the man knows how to play the game of basketball and has a passion for it. You can't say that about all the players you see on a NBA court night in and night out.

Clinton Portis and the costumes

Clinton Portis on Thursdays (media day) always wears these crazy costumes. The first time he did it, it was funny. But now I am starting to wonder if he doing it for attention. Don't get me wrong, he is a talent(and he is from the UM, my first love), but it now seems like a gimmick to get camera time.

Joe Pa

I was so happy for Penn State's coach Joe Paterno. He was 1 second from being undefeated this past year. Sadly enough my alma mater was a casualty (USF). Before the season, many said he should retired. I thought the same thing, but I am glad he didn't. Key Penn State officials set with Joe last year and asked them to retire. Like a stubborn old man he said no. And of course being that he is Joe Paterno, they didn't have the guts to fire him. Based off the his team's performance this year, it looks like the old man still has some juice left in that 76 year-old body.

Miami Hurricanes; what happened???

I am a big UM fan. They got taken to the woodshed on Friday (40-3 loss to LSU). They fired some key coaches. Art Kehoe has been with the "U" since the first national championship in the early 80's. He is now gone. That said a lot to me about the "new U" under Larry Coker. I have been an advocate for Coker since he took over for Butch Davis, but now I am getting kind of skeptic. But I guess it was a "better them than me" type of situation in regards to Larry firing his assistant head coach, offensive coordinator, runningback coach, and linebacker coach. Coker better perform in '06 or he will be out on his hump.

USC vs. Texas

The national championship game should be underway in an hour. I hope Texas beat USC like a read-headed stepchild. I am tired of everyone talking about USC. I like Reggie Bush, but Texas gets no respect.
